It Takes a Village

Every time I do a photo shoot, it’s a big deal. I invest a lot of time, energy and money, not to mention all of the scheduling to arrange my models.  We just did a photo shoot yesterday and it really made me think: it takes a village. There’s arranging location time with my studio partner Donna. There’s scheduling my photographer Kate. Then I need to rope in as many of my friends as possible into showing up to model. They get some really great photos in exchange! It’s truly a community that shows up. And I realize this is true not only for my business, but also for my child, for my family, for my health, for our food, for our home,  and for just about every part of  my life. I am really grateful for my village!

Something else that is inspiring me are the new earrings I’m creating. I’m starting to make bigger series so that I can sell them for less, which makes me happy. Instead of each pair being a prototype, I now have a good system for thoughtful replication. I have found the ones that people like the most and that I can reproduce pretty well. This helps them be less expensive, which is what I want to offer my customers. Then when I do my markets I can sell them at even lower prices. I look forward to being able to do more and more of this.

I’m always so excited about sharing new things. My Children’s Summer Camps flyers are so fun to make. I love being creative and coming up with unique designs that I hope will capture people’s attention. I also love planning for the camps and what creative projects we will be doing. And guess what else is new? I will now be an artisan at Trimble Court near Old Town Square in Fort Collins! It is a beautiful store showcasing local artists’ work. My latest weaving series of scarves - which are pictured above on my models - will be there soon!

Children’s Summer Camps are coming sooner than you think. Sign up here. .

And don’t forget, Valentine’s Day is coming soon . . .
