Children’s Summer Camps

Can you believe it’s already time to sign your children up for my summer camps? I’m ready for them, and brimming with so many creative ideas for your kiddos. This summer I am going to France again as I do every other year, so I will only offer three sessions from May 29th to June 14th. But it will be a lot of fun! Classes fill up fast, so register now, because I like to cap my classes at 6 students to keep them more intimate.
Children’s Summer Camps

Registration OPEN NOW for Summer Children’s Workshops
In these classes we will make a fabric collage patchwork pillow. This is a multi-layered project:
First we will weave or wet felt - by choice of each student - a background for our pillow. Then we will pick fabrics and fabric patterns such as birds, trees, etc, and cut them into pieces. We will learn to sew small patches (butterflies, bees, chickens, etc.) onto other pieces of fabric. We will sew them together on several backgrounds to create the front of the pillow. Depending on the children’s skills, we will also embroider on the piece and sew on optional buttons and found objects your children would like to add to their hand-made pillow. We will then pick a simple back for it and sew the pillow together and stuff it.
*Weather permitting we will be outside. I will provide water and healthy snacks but your children should bring hats, their own water, lunch and snacks if they prefer and in case of dietary restrictions.
