Resting & Jetting

Archie resting - Mélina jetting

As a friend put it I am jetting this summer. In Germany this week, in the Alps at the end of July, England beginning of August and Colorado mid August. That is not a very environmentaly friendly move but it is feeding my soul and necessary at the moment. Zora is so excited to see her Fort Collins friends again soon!

I am grateful for those of you who have already contacted me to come help work on my house, La Vigneronne. I am realizing that this is my creative outlet at the moment. I will weave again and make more fiber art related creations but in the meantime I am sorting my new life and projects out and this house remodeling is very exciting. As I am traveling and visiting a dear friend Cora in Germany right now with my mom and Zora - the Three Inseparables - I realized what I mean by “creativity in a remodel project”. I am working with my brother who does wood work, metal work, everything handy-human related and I see us working together re-using old wood, metal and materials in general that were left at the Vigneronne house. We decorate and fix it up with old materials and use our creative juices. It is fun to experience what my brother and I can come up with together, mixing the practical and the eastetic.

Between May 10 and May 23 of 2027 I am preparing one or maybe two Fiber Arts Retreats in Capestang, near Narbonne, south of France. There will be more to come as I fine tune the events. Some of you have shown interest in participating with your child or children so I am thinking of having an adult workshop and an adult & children one. I am starting a list of attendees and am limiting each to eight students. Feel free to keep reaching out.

Another project in the making is: the house that I am renting from my brother in Montels - seven minutes from Capestang and my new/old Vigneronne house - will be my fiber arts studio. The main room that is a kitchen, dining and living room is very light with the large bay windows. A perfect place for my Schacht Mighty Wolf loom. In the summer my brother and I are picturing renting it out since this is a very popular and prized tourist destination. It will also be the place you would stay at while some of you help with my house remodel project. Anyways, only fun and exciting ideas are brewing here for us.

In the photos below you will see the demolition of a chimney that I will not be using and that was taking up a lot of space it what will be the future kitchen. I have two other chimneys in the house. Two work injuries, a concert at the maison Romane - the oldest house in Capestang. Walking Archie, the front patio and departing for Germany with Zora and Myriam.
