Capestang

Gruissan, France - March 2026

Zora and I have been discovering the area of Capestang and Narbonne. We are making a lot of new friends and that is helping us keep our spirits up.

We travel a lot discovering south of France, Spain and England so far. Coming soon I have five days planned in Colorado to keep my green card active - Not sure how long I will be able to maintain it for. Then England for Zora and I and a couple of friends, from April 18 to 25 near Oxford in a camper van. And from April 25 to May 7, I will be in Korea for a tea ceremony workshop.

Though torn about all the pollution airplanes are generating, I am excited about all these travels.

As for my studio, I have decided to make some space and move some boxes back to my house, maybe the fabrics and to keep my loom and yarns there. I think it will be ready for me to work in this month. For the week in April that I will be home and after May 7th I am hoping I will start weaving again. It will have been over a year and I miss being creative a lot. Though I feel like I have been replenishing my well lately and getting inspired. The earrings in the pictures below have snuck in, they are from last year but I decided to keep them in there because their colors match the sun, sea, sand and even snow of some of the other photos. This is a good reminder for me also that I will get back to painting leather and making earrings soon.

What have you all been up to? I hear Colorado for example has been very hot this winter. I don’t know the local, southern France, climate very well but I hear from locals or people who have lived here a long time that it has been very wet and not too much colder than usual. It has felt cold to me but I think the humidity has something to do with that. I can’t believe I am starting to consider one of those puffy, goose down jackets that go all the way to your ankles while living in SOUTH of France!

Keep in touch.

Mélina, Zora and Archie
