Settling In
The old, the new and growth.
After a whirlwind of traveling, celebrating the life of someone I loved deeply, Zora and I are slowly settling into our new routine.
Zora is in school right now. Wednesdays she goes from 9 am to noon. I found a nice little café “Les Arts” in Béziers where I can sit with Archie - not inside but it is so nice and mild outside that we can sit out front and even people watch - and work on the computer after hardware and grocery shopping and before picking Zora up.
Boris has been taking me on fun tours to visit houses. He seems to be on the chase of the next small investment that he can remodel. Brian and I wanted to buy a house at some point but I am putting this project on the back burner for the moment as I navigate the grieving process and will not be making any life changing or at least important decisions at the moment.
Zora is happy to stay in Montels. She loves her cousins and neighbors and is excited to go to school in Capestang next year. I am too since I won’t need to take her to school and travel 40 minutes one way several times a week.
Thank you friends who have been sharing photos of Brian and the Jasper stones that we gave out during his celebration of life. Thank you Heidi, amazing human who works at Hearth and Seoul for the beautiful idea. Check out their amazing teas and other earthy products! Thank you Markus and Lou for the framed photo of Brian that is now at Avogadro’s. All these thoughts warm my heart.
We had a nice celebration of life for Brian in Toulouse, France where we lived between 2003 and 2006. See photos below.
Last time I spoke about exercise and things that can help I am happy to say that I have been walking every morning for at least an hour with a friend and their dog. Archie and Berry, the dogs are actually the ones who met which I think is great. I am also registering at the local Capestang tennis club and on January 6th I will work with a coach to determine who I might play with in a team. I am very excited about that as tennis has been bringing me so much joy the last couple of years. In fact this is a shout out to all my Fort Collins Country club, I miss you friends. And thank you for all the love and support - financial and otherwise - during this difficult time. I am still working on sending thank you and holiday cards. Moving slowly but my heart is there with you all.
Stay warm or cool depending on where you live on this beautiful earth!
