Commissions and special requests inspire me!

Because I’ve painted so many earrings, I’ve sometimes had people request for me to make a custom design. Someone recently saw my moon earrings and asked me to do a pair with a sun and a moon. This inspired me to make a limited edition series. I’ve done this with my seed beaded earrings too. When I recently repaired one, it inspired me to make a series while that creative energy was flowing. This happens to me when I teach a class too. When I teach someone something, it inspires me to start a new project at home. This is part of my business model now. I set the goal to make a limited edition of certain popular designs, anywhere from a half dozen to two dozen special pieces. They’re all related, but slightly different because they are handmade. This is a shift from the beginning when I’d make only one-of-a-kind designs for myself. Then people would see me wearing them and want one, but I didn’t have any more! But don’t worry, I never make a single piece, even one in a series, that is identical. They’re all unique, small batch, created from my heart with love.

Céleste series. Coming soon online. At Makerfolk now.

It is so special for me to create something that is personally meaningful for you or for another. Putting more intention into the creative process makes art that much more powerful and beautiful. You can commission me to make a personalized or customized item for a loved one - alive or passed away - with the intention of that person in mind. I can make specialized pieces with your or their favorite materials, or with specific motifs like Indigenous Peoples, or inspired by books or songs as well.

Practicing fiber arts and crafts has always had a meditative quality for me and I enjoy sharing this practice with others. Teaching has been an excellent way to share my love of creating with others. I truly enjoy teaching. My students have often told me that they appreciate my patience. I believe that my twenty years of experience creating has helped me to clearly see where a student is at, and precisely what they need to learn to further their personal crafting journey.
